Crisp Tuna Salad and UnoTelly Discount Coupon Giveaway

June 4, 2012 by Nancy Lopez-McHugh 88 Comments

**PLEASE NOTICE THAT THE GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED.**

Tuna; salad; healthy; Spicie Foodie

Can you feel that warm breeze coming in through the windows? The smell of summer is in the air. Though we had a mild winter I am so looking forward to the official start of summer. I’m really looking forward to summer fruits, vegetables and salads. During the summer I often prefer a salad over a heavy meaty meal for dinner. This crisp tuna salad is one of my favorite summertime dinners.

Tuna; salad; healthy; Spicie Foodie

You see the photo above? Those 4 ingredients are pretty much all that goes into this salad. So simple yet it lacks nothing. It has a fruit, two vegetables, a protein, fat will come from the olive oil we’ll drizzle over it, and the bread we will serve on the side provides the carbohydrates. See it lacks nothing. Plus if the day is a hot one you won’t have to go near the oven or stove. I think you can see why I love this salad so much.

Tuna; salad; healthy; Spicie Foodie

(If you would like to publish my recipe on your website please quote Spicie Foodie as the recipe creator, and place a link back to the recipe.)

Crisp Tuna Salad
lettuce, I’ve used Bibb but you can use your favorite
tomatoes wedges
carrot, shaved or sliced or shredded
canned tuna, I prefer one in olive oil but use what you like
olive oil, try to use a good quality one
salt and ground black pepper, to taste

Arrange or toss salad as desired. You can toss the olive oil with the lettuce or I like to drizzle it over the plate, then sprinkle a little bit of salt and ground black pepper. Serve alongside your favorite bread.

Lovely photo of one of my fave salads! And yes, I make a full meal out of it :) ! Trying to eat healthy I must admit to usually selecting fish packed in brine. Somehow with tuna that does not cut it for me – think it only a little bit of ‘culinary wickedness’ and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy :) !

Nancy, what a nice summer salad dish! So no dressing, just olive oil and S&P? That’s very easy indeed! I always have tuna can in my pantry for tuna salad. And I have lettuce and tomatoes too. This is not only good for summer, but it will be all year around great recipe to try!
