Ice Cold Summer Drink Recipes, Mine and Yours

July 6, 2012 by Nancy Lopez-McHugh

banana lassi, Indian, yogurt, drink, Spicie Foodie

Do you ever have those days when all day you think it’s one day, then late at night you realize it’s a day later than you thought? It happened to me late last night. I thought it was Wednesday but in fact it was Thursday. Where did the week go? Between everyday life activities, feeling under the weather, and work on a special project, Friday just snuck up on me.

lemongrass, lemonade, Pandan leaves, Spicie Foodie

I usually have a new recipe to share with you on Fridays. Not this Friday, I am unprepared. As I sit here in front of my computer all I can think of is how hot it is. The ice cold glass of water to my side has me fantasizing about ice cold summer drinks to keep cool with. So instead of a new recipe I want to share some drink recipes to help keep you cool this weekend. (Add yours to the linky below)

drinks, Summer drinks, lemonade, beer, sangria, smoothie, Lassi, spicie Foodie

These all look so refreshing in the summer heat. I love mint tea so I can’t wait to try the lemon mint ice tea. My go-to summer drink is sparkling water over ice with a wedge of lime or lemon; it always refreshes. Have a nice weekend!

Thanks Laura! These are all refreshing but sometimes a cold glass of water is pure heaven. You too:)

Isn’t it great when it turns out to be a day closer to the weekend than you thought?
Down here it is super cold and those drinks don’t have quite the same effect but that last photo is extraordinary.

We will hit 105º again today, so your post on summer drinks is perfect today! I love a fruit filled sangria on a hot day :)

PS…rats, I should have brought home some Calvados, but we already had weighed down our suitcases with wine!

      July 7, 2012 at 23:37

Wow, that’s hot! Thanks for adding your sangria it looks so good.

horribly simple but its a tie between a bud light platinum (don’t laugh!) and st germain, sparkling water, and moscato
