Sound apocalyptic music…
For some reason I keep hearing “The Imperial March” (aka the Darth Vader theme) in head. Well since the world is coming to an end you might as well know I’m a Star Wars nerd fan.
Speaking of end of the world, it’s happening on Friday December 21. Some say the end is near, some say we’ll see Armageddon soon…Some say a comet will fall from the sky followed by meteor showers and tidal waves followed by fault lines that cannot sit still… Oh wait that’s a song by the band Tool. Oh yeah I remember know, it was these guys called the Mayans who supposedly said that come December 21st we are all pretty screwed. Or maybe that’s just modern day wacko interpretations.
So if the world is going to explode into bits and pieces then I’m going down with a belly as wide as I am tall. I’m throwing a Doomsday Mexican fiesta! From today until the last second before the doomsday events and Zombies come knocking on my door (on December 21) I will be gorging myself just incase. There’s nothing worse then facing the apocalypse on an empty stomach. So I’ll be eating all -yes all of the following. Wouldn’t you like to be throwing a fiesta with some of these yummy dishes? Si, si.
Tacos Al Pastor, The Best Tacos In The World!
Chicken or Pork or Beef Taquitos
Calabacitas con Maiz or Mexican Zucchini with Corn
Chorizo Stuffed Chiles, No Ordinary Chile Relleno
Watermelon Feta Salsa with Fresh Horseradish, Euro-Mexican Fusion
Micheladas or Mexican Beer Cocktails
Ejotes con Huevos or Mexican Green Beans with Eggs
Bistec en Salsa Roja (Steak in Red Salsa)
Healthy Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips
Pastel de Chocolate Mexicano or Mexican Chocolate Cake
Palomitas con Salsa or Popcorn with Hot Sauce
Just in case we are all still here on December 22 please forget my nerdy Star Wars revelation. If you don’t see me around it is because I couldn’t roll my jelly-roll butt out off the couch.
A wonderful end of the world fiesta! At least, we’ll all die happy and full. ;-)
Cheers,
Rosa
Thank you Rosa!
I agree – if the world is going to end anyway might as well eat ourselves into oblivion! Love this mexican spread!
Haha, glad I’m not the only one;)
Uno de cada uno, por favor! (I hope that’s right! :) That’s what Babylon gave me.)
What a way to go out!!! Happy Doomsday!
Claro que si MJ! Very good with your Spanish. Thanks and Happy Doomsday to you too! :)
I’d love to have a Mexican fiesta with you! Everything looks wonderful! :)
Come on over Laura:)!

Beautiful selection! and on one of the photos I see Russian wooden dishes – I have the same ones in my house!
Hi Julia,
That’s right and how great that you have them too. Thanks!:)
What a FIESTA!
Allow me to join you gals!
Absolutely Angie, come on over. :)
I am coming over too. Only 14 hours left to eat! Worse case we all start a diet on the 22nd. Maybe not, Jan 2nds ;-) A great feast!
Better hurry over Evelyne! Ah diet shmiet :) Thanks
That is hilarious Nancy! I would love to be at your fiesta. Don’t leave any leftovers for the Zombies!!!!
Heck no Sandra -if there are any leftovers they’re for all of you to take home;) Zombies can have the all the brains they want though, lol
LOL!! That is quite the spread – I would love to be a guest!
Bienvenida to the fiesta Alyssa! hehe;)
Can I spend the last day be four the end of the world with you, at your table? -))) We are planning to have sushi and Champagne tomorrow! I’ll talk to you on Saturday my dear friend!
Yes absolutely Yelena! Then I’m coming over to your house for sushi and Champgane;) Lol see then!
All you had to say was Posole to get me to show up to your fiesta. This is the first evening I sat down before I crawled into bed, so if it is over tomorrow I went out with a bang. Too bad you weren’t closer, I’d bring some cookies over before the world ends. He He.
-Gina-
Too bad I would have loved your cookies. But I’m still here so maybe we can still get together for some posole and cookies?:)
Your cartoons are so cute haha!
Hehe:)
ha! ha! Love those cartoons! We are Christmas caroling with the cub scouts tonight, but I’d rather be feasting on your fiesta!
…hmm…Yeah I also rather be picking out on Mexican food. But have fun Laura:) Lol, and seriously have fun.
LOL!! You are so funny Nancy! :) I would love to join your doomsday party. That certainly is the way to go… a belly as big as how tall you are. :) I love the cartoons too… Cheers to a billion more years on Earth. :)
Hehe, you’re welcome to the fiesta Ramona. Cheers to a billion more!! :)
Looks like the perfect menu to me! Gorgeous pictures!!
Thank you Julie and welcome to the doomsday fiesta! :)
Well, even though doomsday didn’t happen, this is still one great looking feast!
Thank you:)
This was such a fun post…lol, I really like the way you think, my friend! This is one gorgeous fiesta – wish I could have joined you for such a lovely feast!
Loved that first joke particularly. So much hype–so little real understanding of the cycles abounds! Nice recipe round-up as well. I could go for some pozole today… Happy Holidays!
Me too I couldn’t get enough of all the ridiculous and unfounded hype about the new cycle or baktun. Thanks and I’m with you I could eat pozole anytime! Merry Christmas:)
I saw this the other day from my phone…too funny! Everything looks amazing, as always!
Hehe! Thanks Alisha:)!
