Soups and stews are comfort food. To me, it really does not matter if they are meat based or vegetable only, I won’t turn down a bowl. Soups, and stews, can be made with an elaborate amount of ingredients or they can be thrown together with whatever refrigerator scraps need to be used up. Preparing a pot requires minimal effort and clean up. A bowl keeps you warm and content on a cold winter day or on a rainy night.
