Singley’s Pecan Perfections + A Giveaway!

Here at Spicie Foodie, we are strong supporters of small family owned businesses. Today it’s a great pleasure to introduce you to Lindsey Guercio of Singley’s Pecan Perfection. Linsey owns and operates a confection business with her mother and grandmother. Today she will be telling us all about their delicious sweets. Also there’s a sweet giveaway below!

Hi Lindsey! Can you tell us a little bit about Singley’s Pecan Perfections?
Singleys is a gluten free candy, we slow roast pecans and drizzle them in either white or milk chocolate

 

The candies are a family recipe, or one can say a family tradition. Who created the recipe or who started making them first?

The recipe was created by my great grandmother in her kitchen in Mississippi and was passed down to my grandmother who taught my mother and myself how to make it

 

And so your family’s pecans are a sweet treat that has continued to be handed down through the generations, but were they something that was shared outside of the family?

We never shared the recipe outside the family however my mother and grandmother used to give the candy out as a gift to friends and family during the holidays

When did your family take the confection public, or when did they start selling them? 

We took the candy public about a year and a half ago. Since then we have gained popularity online and are in about a dozen stores. We’ve also participated in food festivals, farmers markets and food shows.

 

When did you start getting involved? And what was the reason you decided to get into the business or continue your family’s business?

I got involved when the business first started a year and a half ago. I believe that this product is special and that there isn’t anything else on the market like it.

 

What is your favourite childhood memory that involves the pecan candies? 

I have memories of my mother and grandmother making the candy and it was always a staple during the holidays

Do you have a store or where can people purchase Singley’s Pecan Perfections?

Presently the candy is sold in NYC and CT but you can buy the candy online at www.singleys.net

 

When someone purchases a box or bag of Singley’s, what can they expect? 

We use only the highest quality chocolate and nuts. Every batch of Singley’s is handmade and hand packed. We wanted our product to resemble a gift, something special that you might give to a family member or friend. Our Tiffany blue packaging is very eye catching! We don’t use any additives, instead we keep the recipe simple with only 4 ingredients and to top that all off its gluten free!

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, would Pecan Perfections make a good gift?

We always do our best business during the holidays. Easter and Mother’s Day especially because it’s something different and special you can give your mom and the robins egg blue packaging fits perfectly for spring.
