Sunday Snapshots: Catching Up

June 7, 2015 by Nancy Lopez-McHugh

I haven’t share a Sunday Snapshots with you in a while, a very long while. So today I’d like to catch up on some snapshots. They are photos that I’ve shared on Facebook and just forgotten to also share them here. Enjoy!

Mexican #Terracotta Plates and Bowls by @SpicieFoodie

This stack of plates and bowls are traditional Mexican terracotta pottery. They are so simple and, I don’t know why but, I love eating from them. I purchased the whole stack for $100 (Mexican Pesos), that’s less than $7 USD or 6€. In other words, a super bargain. I’m going to be buying a pot for making beans.

Bernard Czech Beer by @SpicieFoodie | #pivo

Every time I see this Czech beer here in Playa del Carmen, it makes me smile. I love having a piece of Prague (which I called home for many years) here in Mexico.

Fresh Corn Tortillas by @SpicieFoodie

A big pile of warm corn tortillas is one of my life’s pleasures. Nothing beats the smell, taste, and luxury of having them available warm right off the press any and every day of the week.

Abstract photo by @SpicieFoodie

I’m usually not into abstract art, but I always gravitate towards this photo. It was snapped purely by accident when my husband and I were out for a walk. Sometimes accidents turn out to be good things.

Abstract photo by @SpicieFoodie

This little guy loves hanging out in my kitchen window. Maybe he is waiting for some food? He and his many amigos live in my garden, I love seeing them running around the plants and trees. One of my cats, B.B. Katt, is always on the look out for a tasty lizard snack — we’ve had to rescue many lizards from him.

Pelican on the Beach by @SpicieFoodie

Pelicans are always hanging out on the beaches and piers. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, they’ll let you get really close. Just be careful and don’t irritate them.

Rainstorm in the Caribbean by @SpicieFoodie

Hurricane (and the rainy) season has officially begun. A calm season is predicted this year but we’ll see what happens. This photo was snapped last year as a storm was rolling in over the water. Even the rain is pretty here in Paradise.

Soft Waves in the Caribbean by @SpicieFoodie

I leave you with these soft waves lapping the shore. May the coming work week have nothing but beauty for you. All my best!
