Little Cheese Cubes Marinated in Spiced Oil

February 3, 2016 by Nancy Lopez-McHugh

Marinated and Spiced Feta Cheese by @SpicieFoodie | #cheeseplate #appetizer

Cheese is one of my weakness, it’s difficult resisting it.

The first time I ever tasted marinated cheese was in a pub in Prague. To say that I devoured it is putting it politely. The cheese was a local variety, that is similar to feta, and it was in a light olive oil with several spices. The delicious creamy and salty taste has stuck with me ever since. But nowadays, I love making my own variations of marinated cheese. It is so much fun experimenting with different spices and even cheeses. Sometimes I eat the little bits right out of the jar and other times they go on top of either crackers or a crunchy piece of rustic bread.

Both the Superbowl and Valentine’s Day are right around the corner, and this flavourful cheese would be a hit for both occasions. If you want to serve it at your Superbowl party double or triple the recipe. For Valentine’s Day I suggest making this a part of a romantic cheese plate. Of course, you could also use the little cubes to top salads, soups or even steak.
