Recipe type: sides
Cuisine: Indonesian
Serves: Serves 4
Ingredients
1 bag of frozen green beans (you can use fresh when in season)
1 to 2 Tbsp of sambal oelek (Indonesian chili sauce), adjust to taste
soy sauce to taste
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium onion, evenly chopped
1.5 to 2 Tbsp vegetable oil (I used olive)
Instructions
To quickly defrost the green beans place in a bowl with warm water, allow to sit until defrosted or about 10 minutes. Drain and set aside. While the green beans are defrosting we'll prepare the rest of the ingredients.
Heat the oil and once warm saute the onion until soft and translucent, then add the garlic and cook another 2 minutes. Next add the sambal oelek sauce and soy sauce stir until well combined. Add the defrosted and drained green beans to the pan. Cook until beans are to your desired tenderness.
